Sorry for the late recap this week. We had a great meeting with Patrick, whose last name is not “Redneck,” as Toastmaster. He taught us a great deal about misspellings and mispronunciations of all of our names, but the highlight of our meeting was most definitely the speeches.
Susana, which is not pronounced Suz-anna, delivered a wonderful first ever speech to our club. She toasted her friend’s upcoming nuptials, entertained us, and told us quite a bit about herself and her sense of humor in just 6 minutes. After Susana, came Ania who apparently has been called “Onion” a time or two. We’ve come to expect quite a lot from Ania’s speeches, and this week she delivered not only a thoughtful and funny speech on why Jesus shouldn’t be “sold” but she also dressed the part and fed us pastries.
Then Lora (not Laura) table topics mastered with questions so fun that she intrigued our guests to think about the questions even when the meeting was up. Maureen told us of her interspace travels. Jason advised us all to give our kids one name names. Carlos created an acronym of his name with a little audience participation from Corky, the specifics of which cannot be repeated here.
Taline and Corky evaluated, with Corky delivering quite possibly his most challenging and best evaluation ever. He makes it look so easy, but we know he has a gift.
Amy, Louis and Stephen also served as role players this week. Thank you, folks.
Thank you all to a great meeting. We hope to see you tomorrow!
