Lee as first time Toastmaster took us calmly and beautifully into spring.
Leeanne put the old and the new to the test with table topics. Stuart, when asked what a young man’s fancy turns to, had no idea and spoke instead about home plumbing leaks. Asked about spring cleaning, Russell confessed that, as a single guy, he simply does not clean. Albert explained that he celebrates spring by renewing dues and admiring his new AARP card.
Then came the speeches. Zahra delivered her icebreaker and showed many signs of the authority, grace, and excellence she hopes to demonstrate in the future. Maria spoke on simple ways a couple can enjoy their time together. Rey spoke on the value of the CL manual and the path to becoming a Distinguished Toastmaster.
Corky generally evaluated. Keith gave his first evaluation without using any notes. Taline, still very much relying on notes, encouraged the use of more personal stories. Lora emphasized the importance of using positive language and planned movement.
Thanks also to Brian, Patrick B., and John U. for serving as roleplayers.
