The theme for this meeting was an “Antique Roadshow.”  Albert deftly guided the meeting in our nostalgic discussion of antiques and appreciation of things not-quite-new.

Because there were only two scheduled speeches, Robert prepared a longer Table Topics session, with John, Lee, Li, Brian, Wendy and Susana today’s victims.  They all did a fantastic job and showed that sometimes today’s modern devices just are no match for old school reliability.

Kim gave her ice breaker on “the day in the life of a property manager.”  Who would have thought that job could have so much drama and poignant moments?  It was an entertaining speech and really showed the other side of the renter equation, that of the property manager.

Eric’s speech was “Super Terrific, Fantastic!”  It really was.  It is a beautiful thing when toastmasters give speeches that require us to open up and become vulnerable.  When I gave my speech that involved a sensitive moment in my life, and compare that to Eric’s delivery of an equally sensitive period, I have to say I was awed.  He did everything that I wish I had been able to do.  At the end of the speech there was just total silence, respect and amazement for where we had been taken the last 5-7 minutes.  It was one of those speeches none of us will likely forget.
